Micro SPOT
Micro SPOT is the fast gateway in the SPOT report family — a pre-screening snapshot for micro-enterprises. It runs on the same deterministic engine as Full SPOT, but with deliberately lighter inputs: one SSM document and three bank statements produce a structured micro-financing readiness view in roughly 2–3 minutes.
Sample report — internal only. A real, fully-rendered Micro SPOT report (9 pages) lives at references/Micro-SPOT-Report.pdf in this repository. It contains an actual client’s business name, registration number, and address — internal reference only; do not publish, download-link, or send externally.
What is Micro SPOT?
Micro SPOT applies the same three promises that define every SPOT report — deterministic calculations, source-only data, and transparent scoring — to businesses that do not have audited financials. Where Full SPOT asks for multi-year statements and contracts, Micro SPOT asks only for what a micro-enterprise can produce today. The output is narrower by design: a screening snapshot that tells an owner, in plain terms, how their business looks to a micro-financier — and what to fix before they apply.

Report anatomy
A Micro SPOT report is organised into five panels, A–E:
A. Business Info
What it represents — Who is this business? Verified identity, straight from SSM.
What the client sees: business name, registration number, incorporation date, structure, and location as registered — only what SSM evidences, nothing self-declared.
B. Financial Profile
What it represents — What do the bank statements say? The heart of the report.
What the client sees: average monthly deposits, withdrawals, and month-end balances across the three submitted statements, with each month’s trend analysed.
C. Active Financing
What it represents — What financing does the business already carry?
What the client sees: existing financing facilities drawn from available agency financing records.
D. Financing Eligibility
What it represents — How much micro-financing could this business reasonably support?
What the client sees: an indicated micro-financing range derived from the profile — an indication, never an approval.
E. Micro Assessment
What it represents — How does the business score? The scorecard.
What the client sees: five dimensions scored 1–5, with the scoring rubric printed inside the report itself.
The five scored dimensions
| Dimension | What it measures |
|---|---|
| Duration of Business Operations | How long the business has been operating |
| Bank Statements | Quality and consistency of the submitted statements |
| Cash Reserve | Month-end balance headroom |
| Business Capacity | Scale of activity visible in the account |
| Debt Score Level | Existing obligations relative to the profile |
Each dimension scores 1 (does not meet) to 5 (excellent), and the rubric is printed in the report — the same documents always produce the same scores. A low score is not a rejection; it is a to-do list. The rubric shows the owner exactly what “good” looks like: keep the business account separate, submit three clean consecutive months, leave a reasonable buffer at month-end.
When to offer Micro SPOT
- MSME owners applying for micro-financing (TEKUN, MARA)
- Quick vendor pre-screening for low-value procurement
- Government program eligibility checks for micro-enterprises
- Initial assessment before recommending Full SPOT
The upgrade path
Micro SPOT is a gateway, not a ceiling. When a micro-enterprise is ready for bank financing, supply-chain onboarding, or any process that needs the full picture, the natural next step is Full SPOT: multi-year audited financials, contracts, and the five-section A–E report. The conversation is easy because the owner has already seen what evidence-based scoring looks like.
